Answer:
Ebright learns that real experiments will reward him. This was not just a neat display of things. Actual experiments showed things clearly and proved the point. The subject he knew was about the workings of insects. He was doing this work for the last several years.

He took the eighth grade project. This was to find the cause of a viral disease that killed all monarch caterpillars.

After this he started research. This led to their discovery of an unknown insect hormone.

The study of cells and DNA provides knowledge about heredity and what causes it. If I ever get a chance to work like Ebright, I will take up this field. This will help humanity to fight various diseases.
